I saw this man having a smoke with his morning coffee on Lower Broadway.  There seem to be fewer and fewer smokers these days and the ones that are left are being pushed to the margins.  I am glad that I don’t smoke anymore, but even after ten years I still find myself thinking every now and then about how nice a cigarette would be….

I passed this man getting ready to go down in a manhole…The temperature was already very hot and getting hotter…104 degrees today in Central Park.  I wonder how much hotter it was under the street?  Con Ed must have done a good job because we did not lose power on this hottest day ever….

I met this violin player on the High Line on my sunset walk.   He was playing a bluegrass tune.  Most of the violin players I encounter are playing classical.  Does that make it a fiddle instead of a violin?
